Description

Stock.com Background

Stock.com is a forex broker held by Leadcapital Markets Ltd. Trades is offered in Forex, CFDs, Commodities, Bonds, Indices and Futures markets. The holding company is licensed and regulated by CySec, compliant with the MiFID and registered with the regulatory bodies including FCA and BaFin. It is highly unusual for a broker to be this regulated, so traders should instantly feel confident about trading with this broker. Stock.com’s website is incredibly simple to navigate. Sections are well laid out and easy to find from the landing page. Clearly labeled tab navigation means everything is user friendly and often just a click away. Traders have access to in-depth news reports on the most relevant U.S. and global topics. A demo account including full access to video tutorials and eLearning is available to those wishing to test the service.

Features of Stock.com

Unlike its competitors, Stock.com offers only one type of trading account, which can be accessed with MT4, web, and mobile trading platforms. This account offers one click executions, limit orders, quotes in real time, graphs and charts of time periods and technical indicators and tools. In addition, traders will find a myriad of educational features to help them attain success. Video tutorials and presentations, market news and daily analysis are available. Education is obviously one of the standards of Stock.com’s service. Beginner’s courses offer presentations in basic terms, types of orders, winning tactics, and a full glossary. Advanced traders will find plenty of info as well, including presentations on global trading, chance and risk, buying and selling, and more. Customer support is available for Stock.com in several languages. Representatives will help both standard and demo account holders via telephone or email. Live Chat was not available at the time of review.

Conclusion

All in all, Stock.com’s focus on education and impressive regulation make it a good place to trade at any level.

More substantive, on the other hand, are the learning tutorials: Beginners Course, Forex video of the day, tutorials on the MT4 platform, a solid grounding on Trading Strategies and Trading Tools, and a ForexEbook. But even these are barely enough for the novice to become familiar with trading mechanics.

Clients have to maintain the Minimum Margin Requirement on their Open Positions at all times, else Stock.com will liquidate any or all Open Positions whenever the Minimum Margin Requirement is not maintained. The way this operates, margin requirements are calculated by dividing the true dollar value of a position by the maximum leverage allowed for that trading instrument. Example A: 35,000 EURUSD position at leverage of 1.4000 and 35,000 x 1.4000 (dollar value of 1 Euro)/200(maximum leverage) = $245. Example B: Margin requirement of 1,400,000 USD/JPY position? Stock.com answer: 1,400,000 has a 0.5% margin requirement (200:1 leverage) which equals: $7,000.

In unfettered mode, STOCK.com deals the whole spectrum of equities, forex, commodities, indices and bonds. The front-end GUI is very big on technical information and fundamental charts. Coverage of trans-Atlantic economic fundamentals is adequate, given the many economic signals that must be assessed. Naturally, the analysis tends to be a bit shallow.

The Stock.com system sends a warning at 100% margin level, that they are getting close to automatic liquidation. Customers are also warned that the moment their margin level falls below 20%, the platform will automatically liquidate their positions. This will be done without further reference to the Customer. Customers are responsible for placing their own Stop Loss Orders to minimize losses. In addition, Stock.com may attempt to contact clients to deposit additional Collateral to secure Customer’s obligations to Stock.com.
